…there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens… Eccl. 3:1

our story
At the end of the last millennium, a boy was born who couldn’t stop dancing. Nothing could stop him. Ordinary household chores were an inspiration to him. He created dance routines while vacuuming and sweeping. He set the table with dance steps.
He couldn’t stop. Some inner force drove him, as if music was constantly pulsing through his veins.
Once, during Lent, there was a day without television, computers, or music. “Am I not allowed to dance either?” he asked. The answer he received was, “No.” “So what am I going to do today?!” he exclaimed.
We are lucky to be the parents of this boy. We were able to watch his passion mature day by day and shape his personality.
After graduating from ballet school, our son worked for seven years as a dancer with the Royal Ballet in London. Today, he is a soloist at the Semperoper in Dresden. We accompanied him on this journey and got to know the heart of this unique art, and above all, the hearts of those who create this art—beautiful people who devote themselves entirely to their passion. It was with them in mind that the Dance to Be Foundation was created.

foundation name
We chose the name Dance to Be because, after observing young people fascinated by dance for years, we noticed that it is not just about performing a profession, but that dance is a force that drives, does not give rest, is the essence of existence.
To dance in order to be… to exist… to live – because when you stop dancing, when you stop keeping your body in check, it’s as if you’re not really alive.
It’s not just about dancing – it’s unconditional love.
It’s a phenomenon that combines the state of infatuation and euphoria characteristic of falling in love and mature love ready for any sacrifice and renunciation.
