beautiful people…
…there where passion becomes air…

…why did you choose ballet?

Why do I choose ballet? I ask myself this question quite often since my passion for ballet has put me in numerous difficult and heartbreaking situations in the past and in the present. However the joy I get when working with new choreographers, learning new ways to move my body and then being able to perform on stage while being completely immersed in the choreography and character I’m dancing is thrilling to me. I also love the group energy when dancing in an ensemble, those have been my favorite moments on stage.

…have you ever thought about anything else?

I have indeed thought about other things aside from ballet. I love studying languages and I always contemplated working as an interpreter. I am also very drawn towards acting and singing. Maybe I can combine all three (ballet, acting and singing) in the futur.

…how does your normal day look like? (before quarantine and now)

A normal day for me looks a little like this: I wake up at 7:30 am to get ready for class, I like to get there early for warm up. After class if I have rehearsal I will stay in the studio until needed, if not I work on exercises that will help me progress. I also see my physiotherapist 3 times a week since I am coming back from a 2 year knee injury. I then make some time in the evening to study my uni courses at home. But this schedule may vary, as a freelance dancer every month is different.

…what gives you inspiration and motivation in difficult moments?

I always try to have a goal in mind, a plan that will give me structure and guide me whenever difficult times come. When that fails I remind myself of difficult times I’ve had in the passed and how eventually if you work through it, it will get better.

…what do you value the most in your life?

My family is definitely what I value the most in my life.

…what do you value the most in you?

In myself I value my perseverance and my loyalty.

…the most beautiful moment in your life:

I can’t pinpoint a moment in my life that was more beautiful than another, I’ll just say I’ve had many beautiful moments 🙂

…what is your dream?

My dream is to work with as many choreographers as I can in all different dance styles and create my own choreographies. Becoming a choreographer is definitely my biggest dream!
